AR209 Race Alternator for Big Blocks

This kit contains the mounting brackets, spacers and bolts necessary to adapt a lightweight racing alternator from Powermaster (model number 8162 or 8172) to any RB Chrysler motor. The kit contains aluminum spacers, as well as upper and lower mounting brackets and the mounting bolts. This kit works with any pulley set that has the deep water pump pulley (non-AC setup) shown in the picture. A fan belt such as Gates #7445 will work on a 440 with stock size pulleys. Gates #7445 is 25/64 x 45 1/8.

Mount the kit as shown with the alternator hanging from the 6-inch bolt. The 4.25-inch bolt goes through the water pump housing. The long spacer mounts behind the alternator. A thin washer is used in front of the 8162 alternator but is not needed with the 8172 alternator. The medium length spacer mounts between the two brackets on the 4.25-inch length bolt.

The Powermaster alternator has an internal regulator so you must remove the stock voltage regulator from operation and run a 12 volt ignition switched supply wire directly to the alternator.
